INSURANCE
The FBHC 2018 secretariat and organisers cannot assume liability for personal accidents, loss of or damage to private property of the congress participants and accompanying persons, either during, or directly arising from the FBHC 2018. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
WEATHER
In September, the weather in Lisbon remain extremely warm. The average temperature still reaches a high of 26°C (which is about 79°F), and never dips any lower than 17°C (about 63°F).
TRAVEL INFORMATION – GETTING TO LISBON
There are many ways to get to Lisbon and all of them are easy to use. With the airport, just a few minutes from the centre of the city, stations with international rail links and various ports for cruise ships, there are many options for getting to the capital of Portugal. If you prefer to come by car, there are excellent roads from various points north and south along the border with Spain.
Plane
Land at the Lisbon international airport (Humberto Delgado Airport) which is just a mere 7 km from the centre of the city. Served by the main international airlines and just 2-3 hours away from the main European capitals (ex. Paris, London, Rome and Madrid), it is very easy to reach.
Airport Transfers: After arriving at the airport, you can take the Metro (Red line) to the city centre, and it takes only 25 minutes! Or you can use the AeroBus, which makes regular connections between Lisbon airport, several central points of the city and bus and rail terminals. This shuttle service stops at the main hotels in the city and operates daily between 8 am and 11 pm (line 1) and 8 am and 8 pm (line 2). The other options are Taxi and myTaxy.
Train
National and international trains arrive every day at Santa Apolónia station, which is very close to all the traditional neighbourhoods and the city centre.
We have the Lusitânia Comboio Hotel service, that connects Lisbon to Madrid. With daily departures from Lisbon and Madrid, the Lusitânia Comboio Hotel, is a night service that lets you sleep, organise work and enjoy the on-board meals in the eating car. The Lusitânia Comboio Hotel connects up with an InterRegional connection to and from the north of the country between Oporto Campanhã/Coimbra B/Oporto Campanhã.

Car
The best ways to enter Lisbon by car are via the A1 and via A2, which both have national and international connections along their course. The landscape is beautiful and mobility around the region worths the long hours of driving.
HOW TO GET TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE
During your stay in Lisbon, you can buy the “Viva viagem” card, which gives you accesses both to the Bus (Carris) and the Metro. This is an electronic card that is validated by approaching the card to the contactless validators; it is reloadable and specially designed for non-frequent customers.
Where to buy? In the Metro network, these cards can be purchased and loaded directly from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines and Ticket Offices.
Costs of the Card: The “Viva viagem” card costs 0.50€ and can be reloaded unlimitedly during one year after purchase.
Loading Options:
- Single ticket Carris (Bus)/Metro costs € 1.45
- 24h Network tickets Carris (Bus)/Metro costs € 6.15
- Zapping: Pre-payed ticket, and the price of each ticket/travel is discounted to the remaining value of your card.
BUS (Carris)
You can find a Bus Stop (red circle in the map) near by the conference venue at “Rua de Campolide”, the bus numbers are: 202, 701 and 758.
Nr. 202 Cais do Sodré ⇔ Bairro Padre Cruz: You need to leave the bus at “Estação R. Campolide (Escola)” stop.
Nr. 701 Campo Grande (metro station) ⇔ Campo de Ourique (Prazeres): You need to leave the bus at “Estação R. Campolide (Escola)” stop.
Nr. 758 Cais do Sodré ⇔ Portas Benfica: You need to leave the bus at “Estação R. Campolide (Escola)” stop.

METRO
You can find two metro stations (red circle in the map) near by the conference venue at “Rua de Campolide”, the stations are: Praça de Espanha (Blue line) and São Sebastião (Red line).
Red line: This line connects the Lisbon international airport (Humberto Delgado Airport) to São Sebastião, and it takes approximately 25 minutes. To get to the conference venue you must leave at São Sebastião station. Then in just a few minutes (12 min, distance: 850m) you will arrive to the conference.
Blue line: This line connects the Train station Santa Apolónia to Reboleira. To get to the conference venue you must leave at Praça de Espanha station. Then you walk a few minutes (17 min, distance: 1.2 Km) and you will arrive to the conference.
