6th ITQB-NOVA PhD Students' Meeting

Starting today and until Friday, ITQB-NOVA PhD students will gather at the institute for the 6th PhD students’ Meeting.  

Organized by the students, this meeting is an opportunity for ITQB PhD students to present and discuss their work amongst each other and with other ITQB scientists. This year, around 50 from the 150 PhD students currently at ITQB-NOVA will be presenting their work.

Four talks by invited speakers complement the meeting’s program: José Rui Marcelino, founder of the design company Almadesign; Joana Marques, member of NOVA Doctoral School; Isabel Trancoso, senior researcher at INESC ID in the area of speech processing; and Romeu Costa, actor, director, and theatre teacher.

The meeting is divided in thematic sessions, according to the ITQB Research Divisions - Technology, Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Biology and Plant Sciences - and students are distributed by sessions according to their PhD project topics, in a total of five oral presentation sessions and two poster sessions.
