Joana Ricou is a Portuguese-American artist who also works as creative director for science education. Through both lines of work, Joana has worked with institutions, galleries and universities across the United States and Portugal, including Harvard University, Carnegie Mellon University, Andy Warhol Museum, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the NY Hall of Science. She is an associated member of the Centro de Filosofia de Ciência of the Universidade de Lisboa. Joana lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Joana's artwork explores recent scientific research focusing on how science continuously defines and redefined boundaries and distinctions in the body.
