Next-generation sequencing has revolutionized today's research, shifting the paradigm of genomics to address biological questions at a genome-wide scale. In this seminar, we will discuss how genomics and transcriptomics have revolutionized our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying biological phenomena, with focus on the different techniques applied to characterize genomes and transcriptomes both in an individual and collective manner.
CV:
Dr. Oriol Alejo-Valle did his pre-doctorate at the Center for Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (Spain), studying the transdifferentiation of fibroblasts to megakaryocytes (Pulecio et al. 2016). He completed his PhD under the direction of Jan-Henning Klusmann in Germany (Hannover and Halle), studying the role of miR-125b in leukemia (Alejo-Valle et al, 2022). Since January 2022, he has been Novogene Europe's representative in Portugal.
