Title: Ongoing Organic Synthetic Methodologies@FF.ULisboa

Abstract:
In line with our interest in catalyst reuse [1] and exploring new synthetic methodologies will be described ongoing research in this laboratory on the valorisation of natural resources [2], ionic liquids area [3] and novel catalyzed transformations such as: a) Brønsted acid-catalyzed dihydroxylation of olefins in aqueous medium [4]; b) Asymmetric Rh(II) carbenoid and metal-free C-H insertion of alpha-diazo-acetamides [5], c) Production and isolation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF) from carbohydrates [6], d) HMF modification [7] and e) Enzymatic resolution of sec-alcohols [8].
