COHiTEC 2017 Presentation Session
COHiTEC 2017 is a training program destined to support researchers assessing the commercial viability of the technologies they have developed in their research.
The session is open to the public and registrations are available at https://www.actbycotec.com/en/cohitec.127/roadshow.133.html
The COHiTEC Program is an initiative held by COTEC Portugal – Associação Empresarial para a Inovação, which was created in 2004 in order to support researchers from the National Scientific and Technological System in the assessment of the commercial potential of the products or services resulting from the technologies they have developed.
In 2017, the COHiTEC Program will take place between March and July, one afternoon per week, in Oporto (in partnership with Porto Business School) and in Lisbon (in partnership with Nova School of Business and Economics). The Program is free of charge for its participants.
Over four months, researchers have access to training in themes relevant to the commercialization of their technologies, such as product and service idea generation, intellectual property, financials, legal issues, business model and business plan development.
The Program's approach is hands-on, which means that researchers will apply the learnings to their technology proposals and, with the support of management students and mentors, prepare a business project to be presented publicly at the end of COHiTEC.
COHiTEC Program was created in 2004 by COTEC Portugal - Associação Empresarial para a Inovação, with the objective of promoting the valorization of the knowledge generated in portuguese R&D institutions and aiming to support the transfer of this knowledge to the market.
The program has the support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Caixa Capital and is held in partnership with the Porto Business School, Nova School of Business and Economics and with the north-american universities of North Carolina State, Brown and Rutgers.
Since its inception, 165 projects have participated in COHiTEC, in a total of 860 participants, between researchers, management students and mentors.
The business projects supported by COTEC led to the creation of 35 technology-based companies. So far, these companies have received an investment of more than 39 million Euros.
Applications are open and will close on the 20th of February at 23:59. The application form can be seen here. Registration is necessary in order to consult the registration form.
