Title: Mixing Methodologies in Single-use Bioreactors- A Comparative Analysis of Consistency Across Scale

Speaker: Brian Lee MD PhD

Affiliation: PBS Biotech, Inc - California, USA

Host: Manuel Carrondo

Abstract:

A lack of physiological environment consistency within the single-use cell culture bioreactor / vessel from bench scale to production scale is a limitation in scale-up efficiency.  High variability in vessel geometry, mixing pattern, shear force and mass transfer rate of various bioreactors complicates process control through scale up.   Presentation of comparative data will both reveal current inconsistencies and support an innovative solution for the future of biomanufacturing.
