Program
• Quantitative PCR as a process: the influence of sample preparation, quality assessment and reverse transcription strategies.
• Assay validation and optimization: the benefit of using a thermal gradient, how to assess sensitivity and dynamic range, how to design FAST Real Time PCR protocols
Intervalo
• Advanced software tools: how many housekeeping genes have to be used for normalization purposes? Is the reaction efficiency to be taken into account when doing calculations?
• The use of melting analysis for studying allelic variants and DNA methylation. Suitable intercalating dyes and instruments, analysis software and sensitivity.
The presentations will finish around 17h30.
