Abstract: Daniela Ferreira will discuss the human challenge models involving pneumococcus and the advancements made in their application for vaccine development, the identification of correlates of protection, and the understanding of human mucosal immunity. Furthermore, she will present findings on how co-infection with respiratory viruses impacts host mucosal immunity and the transmission of pathogens.
