Title: The role of phosphorus in Sub-Saharan Africa food security: what we know and where we need to go

Speaker: Dr. Daniel Magnone

Affiliation: University of Lincoln, UK

Abstract: Sub-Saharan Africa must urgently improve food security and soil processes, particularly, nutrient flows are critical to this. Phosphorus availability is one of the major barriers to overcoming food security challenges due to low historical agricultural use. During this presentation, Dr Magnone will outline how improvements in soil modelling processes have helped outline different food security developments for the continent and the barriers for Sub-Saharan Africa.
