Green-it Annual Meeting 2023
The 8th Annual Meeting of the Bioresources for Sustainability Unit Green-it took place on November 16 and 17 2023, at ITQB NOVA, Oeiras. The first day of the meeting gathered members from all institutions of GREEN-IT, as well as the Scientific Advisory Board (Sophien Kamoun, Paul Christou, Angela Sessitsch, and Patrícia Cotrim), to analyze the passing year and discuss future plans for the Research Unit. The morning started with a welcome by ITQB NOVA Director, Prof. João Crespo, followed by presentations by GREEN-IT Coordinator and Vice-Coordinator, Margarida Oliveira and Isabel Abreu, respectively, in regards to the last 3 years and the vision for the next years.
During the afternoon, several members presented an overview of their work, including Pedro Naves (INIAV), Cristina Azevedo (InPP), Isabel Miranda Calha (INIAV), Nádia Castanheira (INIAV), Francisco Nascimento (iBET), Jorg Becker (ITQB NOVA), Carlota Vaz Patto (ITQB NOVA), Carla Motta (INSA), and Pedro Barros (ITQB NOVA). The day wrapped up with pitches by the 1st year Green-it PhD students shared across the partner Institutions (João Barnabé, Sofia Duarte, Diogo Lucas and João Reis), followed by a general discussion.
The second day of the Annual Meeting was entirely dedicated to the discussion between the members of the SAB and of the Green-it management board, in order to further discuss and align ideas.
