In this session we will touch base on the fundamentals of tech transfer, innovation and intellectual property.

If as a researcher you found yourself in situations where you think you have discovered something new, have been contacted by a company regarding a potential collaboration, need to transfer materials between institutions, or need to write a section about exploitation to apply for a grant, you might find this useful.

Research staff from any seniority level can benefit from attending this session, regardless of wanting to patent your research or having (or not) a collaboration with a company.

We will touch base on the fundamentals of tech transfer, innovation and intellectual property in the academic context.

After the session you will know what is the meaning of innovation, technology transfer, and exploitation, what is a patent, how can you publish and patent at the same time, and how you can use these tools to give you a competitive advantage in your daily life as a researcher.

There will be a brief introduction to the topic, followed by a period of Q&A where you will have an opportunity to ask any question.
