The CARDIOPATCH project was highlighted on National Television – “Exame Informática” (SIC Notícias). In this episode, Margarida Serra, Head of Stem Cell Bioengineering Laboratory at iBET, provides a walkthrough to the laboratory while underlining the role of iBET within CARDIOPATCH.
CARDIOPATCH project aims to develop an innovative strategy to regenerate damaged cardiac tissue after myocardial infarction. iBET plays a key role in the development of technologies and protocols for the production and characterisation of different cells and cell-based products. Learn more about iBET participation in CARDIOPATCH here.
Selected highlights:
- iBET is responsible for the study and characterisation of stem cells with the capacity to regenerate the myocardium. The production process will be designed to be scalable and efficient.
- iBET work with focus two different types of cells:
– Human induced pluripotent stem cells-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC–CMs) reprogrammed from adult stem cells and then differentiated into cardiomyocytes
– adult stem cells isolated from adipose tissue
