The EU-funded project DiViNe, coordinated by iBET, was recognised by a panel of experts as one of the success stories of European Commission on Research and Innovation. We are very pleased to have earned such a distinction from the European Commission attributed to projects by their impact, contribution to policy-making, innovative results and creative approach.

The DiViNe project used affinity chromatography process to purify vaccines candidates. This method simplified the purification process, boost yields, limit waste and reduce costs, in a bid to help make more doses available and more affordable. This results from a collective effort of 6 partners from 5 different EU countries:

  • iBET
  • Affilogic
  • Aquaporin
  • Merck KGaA
  • GenIbet Biopharmaceuticals
  • GSK

In a dedicated article, featured on the European Commission website, Manuel Carrondo explains major challenges of the project and remarks that “From every point of view, the case for affinity use in vaccine production is compelling”.
