António Roldão, Head of the Vaccine Development Lab, was invited coordinator of the “Manufacturing and Quality Process Control” module in the 6th edition of the Master in Vaccinology and Drug Development.
This master’s degree, organised by University of Siena, gathers worldwide vaccinology experts in a unique partnership between industry and academia. Together with the 10 modules covering a variety of topics from Vaccine Immunology to Regulatory Affairs, the program also included several workshops and practical internships in the industry.
In addition to António, iBET’s researcher Ricardo Silva also participated as a lecturer in the module “Manufacturing and Quality Process Control”.
A key differentiating feature of this master program is the overall aim of capacity building in emerging countries. Program students develop valuable scientific and practical competences that enables them to join the next generation of public health leaders in developing countries.
Thus, this program helps the countries to build their own resources, to disseminate knowledge, to develop new professionals and to be independent on key aspects such as pharmacovigilance, regulatory and epidemiology.
iBET participation in the Master in Vaccinology and Drug Development was an opportunity to strenghten our connections to the worldwide vaccinology experts’ network while contributing to the bigger goal of training vaccinology professionals ready to tackle the big future challenges of global health.
