Forest Biotech

In the Forest Biotech Lab we are interested in developmental processes in trees underlying traits of economic interest. We are currently focusing our studies on secondary plant growth and on embryogenesis in conifers. For a better understanding of such aspects of development, we are using plant species such as maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) and cork oak (Quercus suber) as well as models like Populus and Arabidopsis.
