Water Deficit

Drought, one of the most serious world-wide problems, greatly affects crop plants, and even a transient water deficit can markedly reduce plant productivity. High temperature and salinity often come together with drought, and also have dramatic effects on plants.

Typically, research activities are integrated in multidisciplinary teams (Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology) by getting together several research groups within and outside ITQB.

After clearly establishing stress profiles (intensity and imposition rate) we can securely choose distinct stress levels to subsequent studies.
