Researcher position in computational structural biology within EU funded project to increase preparedness against viral threats

The Protein Modelling lab at ITQB NOVA is hiring a PhD researcher, within the HORIZON EUROPE funded research project SHIELD - Molecular strategies against viral entry and glycan shielding.

The successful candidate will integrate the highly multisciplinary consortium of the SHIELD project, which aims to bring a paradigm shift in therapeutic strategies for targeting devastating virus families such as Arenaviridae (Lassa), Paramyxoviridae (Nipah/Hendra) and Flaviviridae (West Nile virus, Zika, Dengue, and Yellow Fever) that are responsible for millions of infections globally. 

📍 Working place: ITQB NOVA facilities, located at Avenida da República, Oeiras, Portugal

📅 Call open: 26th of February 2025 to 18th of March 2025

📄 Contract: The PhD candidate to be hired will conduct research work as part of the project's development, which has a duration of five years.

O candidato selecionado integrará o consórcio multidisciplinar do projeto SHIELD, que tem como objetivo promover uma mudança de paradigma nas estratégias terapêuticas direcionadas a famílias de vírus devastadoras, como Arenaviridae (Lassa), Paramyxoviridae (Nipah/Hendra) e Flaviviridae (vírus do Nilo Ocidental, zika, dengue e febre amarela), responsáveis por milhões de infeções a nível global.

📍 Local de trabalho: instalações do ITQB NOVA, sitas na Avenida da República, em Oeiras, Portugal 
📅 Prazo de candidatura: entre os dias 26 de fevereiro e 18 de março inclusive
📄 O Doutorado a contratar irá desenvolver trabalho de investigação, enquadrado no desenvolvimento do projeto, que tem a duração de 5 anos.
