The main purposes of this meeting are
To update the Portuguese scientific community involved in Integrated Structural Biology in the current situation of the European Infrastructure Instruct;
To inform the participants of success stories of the use of the platforms available through Instruct, with national and international examples;
To further motivate the Portuguese scientists of taking advantage of Instruct as researchers of a member country of this infrastructure;
We shall have the participation of the coordinator of Instruct-ERIC coming from Oxford, Susan Daenke, who will tell us about the present developments and situation of Instruct-ERIC, but also two scientists that will speak about methodologies, cryo-EM and native MS, which are undergoing a great development and are attracting high interest from biochemists and structural biologists. They will enhance the advantages of using this infrastructure to access platforms that make these technologies available to member country users. Reports from successful cases of Portuguese recent use of Instruct will also be presented as well as the correlation of PCISBIO with the Portuguese networks on NMR and MS.

Through Instruct we can have access to the very top state-of-the-art technologies related with Structural Biology which are not presently possible in our Institutions, and thus we should continue making the best possible use of our membership. These are very comprehensive and include platforms that address sample production, biophysical characterization, X-ray data collection, cryo-EM, MS, NMR, microscopic imaging and computational.
This meeting will be an excellent opportunity to know Portuguese scientists that have used Instruct and to exchange ideas for future applications.
