2nd LS4FUTURE PI Retreat

The second PI Retreat organized by the LS4FUTURE Associate Laboratory gathered 71 researchers and two members of the Strategic Advisory Board for an engaging event held on October 29th and 30th , in Vimeiro.
Designed to deepen interactions and collaborations between the PIs of the 5 partner institutes, including ITQB NOVA, aligning them with the LS4FUTURE strategy, the retreat proved to be a successful blend of scientific exchange, professional networking, and practical development sessions.
The first day of the retreat centered on scientific presentations that highlighted the thematic lines of LS4FUTURE and celebrated awarded projects from the Seed Funding program. Later in the afternoon, participants broke out into networking sessions, brainstorming initiatives focused on career development, internationalization, and knowledge translation, which aimed to expand LS4FUTURE’s impact and opportunities for community engagement.
The second day focused on essential skills beyond scientific research, covering topics such as effective leadership and supervision, best practices for stakeholder engagement, and strategies for initiating collaborations. These sessions provided attendees with tools to strengthen partnerships within and outside the lab, emphasizing the importance of effective collaboration in scientific advancements.
