The jury of the António Xavier Award, in collaboration with BRUKER France, announces the call for proposals to the Prémio António Xavier.

The prize, with a monetary value of five thousand Euros, was instituted by BRUKER to acknowledge the tireless commitment of Professor António Xavier to Portuguese scientific development.

The Prémio António Xavier 2009 will distinguish the best scientific project in the areas of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance, whose author is no more than 39 years old at the date of the prize awarding (9th of July, 2010) and is affiliated to a Portuguese University, Research Institute, or Company.

Candidates should submit their proposals in electronic format to the President of the jury, Prof. Helena Santos (santos@itqb.unl.pt) until the 16th of May 2010. Proposals, written in English or Portuguese, should include the candidate’s CV and the project under appreciation. The project cannot exceed 20000 characters (with spaces), and should contain an abstract, objectives and project description.
