Inês Trindade awarded Best Oral Presentation
Oeiras, 4.09.2018
The oral presentation "Unforeseen versatility in ferric-siderophore reduction: the structural & functional characterization of SIP, a Siderophore-Interacting protein from Shewanella frigidimarina" delivered by Inês Trindade, PhD student at the Inorganic Biochemistry and NMR Laboratory at ITQB NOVA, was awarded the prize for best oral presentation at the European Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference, which took place in Birmingham, UK 26-30 August.
The EUROBIC is the regional conference series promoted in Europe by the Society for Biological Inorganic Chemistry, of which Prof António Xavier, the founder of ITQB NOVA, was also founding member number 1. The Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry (SBIC) is a learned society established to advance research and education in the field of Biological Inorganic Chemistry, and to promote popular, industrial and academic understanding. SBIC finances training courses, workshops and conferences to facilitate exchange of information between scientists involved in the research and teaching of Biological Inorganic Chemistry. Four prizes were awarded to the best oral presentation by early stage researchers (students, post-docs and non-tenured faculty) during the Congress.
