Manuela Chaves elected Correspondant Associé of the Academie d'Agriculture de France

Manuela Chaves, ITQB NOVA researcher, was elected Correspondant Associé of the Academie d'Agriculture de France, in the section Sciences da la vie. The new correspondents now elected were officially received this week in a cerimony in Paris.
Manuela Chaves is now one of the foreign members of the academy in the section "Life Sciences", that focuses on the understanding of biological processes that make unity and diversity of life. This section includes bichemistry, physiology, genetics, genomics and pathology in all kingdoms (animal, plant and microbes).
L'Académie d'agriculture de France is a public utility institution with a scientific and educational character. Created in 1761, it is based in Paris and includes more than 700 members. Its main mission is to conduct scientific, technical, economic, legal, social and cultural reflections, in the medium and long term, in the fields of agriculture, food and the environment. Its action thus helps to enlighten citizens and decision-makers to prepare or accompany the evolutions of these different sectors.
