The Molecular, Structural and Cellular Microbiology Unit (MOSTMICRO-ITQB) and the BioResources 4 Sustainability Unit (GREEN-IT), both coordinated by ITQB NOVA, were once again rated with the maximum score in the evaluation of Portuguese research and development (R&D) centers. iNOVA4Health, with ITQB NOVA as one of its core partners, also received the top rating, attributed to two in each five research centers.
This recognition highlights ITQB NOVA’s sustained commitment to advancing knowledge in the fields of health and environmental sustainability.
The provisional results of FCT’s evaluation, one of the main funding mechanisms for Portuguese science, were shared this Tuesday, 15th April. Of the 336 applicant units, 313 secured funding for the 2025-2029 period: 135 were rated “Excellent,” 117 “Very Good,” and 61 “Good.”
The evaluation process was carried out by panels of international experts, who visited the research units, reviewed their activities between 2018 and 2023, and assessed their strategic plans and organization for 2025-2029.
